NC > WI

Today was a crazy day at work, I think I spent a grand total of 90 minutes at my desk! During one of those short breaks, my mom called my cell phone. I stepped out of the office to answer it, mostly because she usually calls my work number if she wants to talk. She was kind of crying and I immediately thought the worst. Turns out today was her hospital's first day for new residents and they were all having their picture taken outside and she walked by them and it made her miss us! So I've been checking out townhomes and condos in Chapel Hill and Durham and am really excited about the thought of heading back to NC one day. I just won't think about the fact that we have 3 years left here in Wisconsin...

In other news...

Besides thinking/talking/worrying about periods and tests and babies, here are some other things I've been up to lately...

Daniel's been studying/taking exams for the last week and a half, so I've had to find non-hubby related ways to entertain myself lately. I've sort of become sucked into a TV show on Netflix...

I know! I SO did not think I'd be into it, but I am. My friend Danielle recently admitted her TV addiction and I feel like I need to as well. I've even caught Daniel sneaking a few looks here and there. Next thing you know he'll be right there watching it with me!

Lately I've been really good at not biting my nails and taking care of them properly, so I bought some cute polish to reward myself. It's been a long time since I painted my own nails, so the final result isn't pretty, but the color is too cute! I wanted something fun, but not distracting. The shade is pretty close to the classic Tiffany Blue, so at least my fingers look like they can afford fancy jewelry

And I had a fun surprise at work today - my friend Emily and her sweet daughter Elise stopped by my desk for a little bit! They celebrated the nice weather with a picnic on campus with husband/daddy Zack, who was studying away on campus. It was nice to chat and see them for a little while!

Here We Go Again

One step forward, two steps back

I didn't think I'd be seeing these little guys anytime soon. My body has been out of whack for the better part of a month after almost a year of normalcy and I got tired of trying to let things work themselves out, so I'm on a tapered dose to help bring it all back together. Hopefully this is just a little setback and not a sign of a bigger problem.

Luckily I have a great support team...

My two favorite things :)

Silly Groupon

I love the way I can customize my Groupon offers, sometimes it's like they read my mind and give me an awesome deal on exactly what I'm looking for. However, I think this one was a bit off...

If you live in the Milwaukee area and need these services, please let me know, I'd hate for a deal like this to go to waste!

PS: Yes, I know the pictures go off the edge of the text area. It's not aesthetically pleasing, but it's the price I pay for informing you of this great offer

RG

Today was a super long day, so when I got home I looked at this and giggled. I also bought The Notebook yesterday so now I can get my Ryan Gosling fix whenever I need to. Daniel's just going to have to deal with it.

Dream

In my dream last night, I was at a med school thing with Daniel. It started at 1pm, so we showed up at about 12:45pm and got good seats. By 12:57pm the place was pretty much full, and then someone asked me to move to the back of the room so another med student could have my seat.

I FROKE out.

I started yelling about how this was important for me and I wanted to spend time with my husband and it was unfair that I was being forced to move even though I had gotten there at an appropriate time. And then I ran away.

My friend Emily followed me and reassured me that everything would be okay and things would work out. Then my Aunt Kelly was there and she gave me a piece of paper with advice on how to make each day count, with or without your spouse.

After all that, I felt better. But then I was embarrassed about making a scene, so I stayed outside until the thing was over.

I think my brain was trying to tell me something. Sometimes, med school is going to suck. Daniel's going to be studying for Boards or on rotations or changing his mind about his specialty and sometimes I'll be by myself and it'll be frustrating. But it's important to remember that we'll be okay. We need to make the most of the time we have together and remember the good times instead of the bad. Hopefully this was just a reminder instead of foreshadowing...

PS: Do you like how exact my times were? Sometimes my mind remembers the weirdest stuff...

Na Na Na

Lately, I've realized that I really like songs with some kind of na na na sound. Here are a few of my favorites to sing along to...

Na na na starts at 2:32

Na na na starts at 2:28

Na na na starts at 1:48

Probably the best na na na of all time

Na na na starts at 3:08

Surprisingly, I don't like this song
