Now You Know

People ask us all the time if Daniel's picked a place to go to med school yet. And the answer is the same. It's been the same for the last month and it's probably not going to change for at least the next week and a half.

Short answer: We still haven't heard back from everywhere yet.

Long answer: We still haven't heard back from everywhere yet, but we've narrowed it down to three schools (Duke, Mayo, and Wash U), except Daniel hasn't even heard back from Duke yet (we're at the 1.5 week countdown though) and he's on the hold list at Mayo, so the only school on our list that he's actually been accepted to is Wash U and I don't really want to go there so I'm rooting for Duke, but Mayo would be good too, and starting March 1 Mayo is going to start taking names on the hold list and rejecting them or putting them on the wait list, and if Daniel gets put on the wait list he can withdraw his application on his own or wait it out and the only sure thing is that he'll have a "yes" or "no" from Mayo by the time school starts in August, and since we've already sold our contract here we have to be out by April 25, and both of our families have offered their home to us for the summer, but we'll probably end up in Appleton because it's more centrally located than Wilmington and we've decided that if we go to Appleton then we'll wait until our anniversary (July 10) and make our final decision then.

I like the short answer better.

We're All Alright!

That '70s Show recently showed up on the "Instant Play" list on our Netflix and we have watched it here and there when we have time. Since the show takes places in a (fictional) Wisconsin town, there are plenty of references to the Packers and Kenosha, but my favorite find is this, in the Forman's kitchen...

Not from the actual set, but you get the idea

I will have these in my house someday!

Caution: Googling "cheese grater lights" may cause a desire for 5-year aged cheddar

GB Love

This post is dedicated to the Packers. They know how to avoid turnovers and play a good game. In honor of the game, I made a cheesehead cake! I've been watching Cake Boss on Netflix lately and decided I could make a cool cake too. I used a free trial of Amazon Prime to get the pan here in like a day and I found this AMAZING product that gets the cake out without any of it sticking. It was awesome!

On Sunday we broke our fasts with Packeroni and cheese! I took half of the cooked noodles and added some food coloring and boom! Packeroni and cheese

I've decided that it's impossible to hate Aaron Rodgers. I particularly love this story my father-in-law shared the other day. Did you know A-Rod had a moustache? Check it...

He also cleans up nicely...

I also thinks he sometimes looks like a sad puppy dog...

(it's not the best, but this was the best example I could find)

Cheer up, Aaron Rodgers!

Much better!

And what would a Packers-related post be without THIS...

(thanks to Beyonce for making such a catchy song)

Since posting the ad for our apartment on Friday night, we've had three different couples stop by and check it out! It would be awesome to check this off the list of stuff to do, one less thing to worry about!

On another totally unrelated note, I LOVE this song...

More Shameless Advertising!

Since we're graduating and going to med school and all that jazz, we're selling the contract for our place here at Parkside. If you've ever been to our apartment, you know it's pretty awesome. Spread the word!

Here's the ad: your new home!

Behold

Super Bowl party at Grandma Larson's on Sunday! I'm making this...

My convex triangle cake pan is on its way from Amazon and I've been watching Cake Boss, so I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. It's going to be epic!

EmU and WashU

Daniel got an interview invitation to Emory University in Atlanta! It's kind of late in the interview season (interviews end February 28, Daniel's is February 21), but we're interested enough in Emory that we thought it was worth checking out. I'm going with him and will scope out some potential places to live if we end up there. For those of you who don't know, I LOVE apartment hunting on Craigslist! I don't know what I'll do once we actually move, I guess I'll have to get a real hobby or something. I found this AMAZING place, and if Daniel gets accepted and we decide to go to Atlanta, this is where we will live...

Click on the link for the pictures. Isn't it beautiful? And it's in our budget! I love it so much!

Also, Daniel got accepted to Washington University in St. Louis! I'm excited for the acceptance, not so much for the St. Louis part though. It's far away from both of our families and St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the US (this is the research TA in me - source, source). I've done some Craigslisting and found a few good places, but I'm still not sold on the idea. We're thinking of going out for the second look weekend in April, but we might not because we'll know about everywhere else by then and it may not be worth it if we get accepted to Duke or Emory or the other Case program.

I hate being stuck! Can we just fast forward a few months please?
